Join our group of like-minded safari sisters for an unforgettable African Safari. Choose your style of adventure and discover your Africa on a safari to Uganda or Tanzania in 2020.

Adventure Buddies, I was not prepared for how much Africa would make me fall in love with her animals, landscapes, people, culture — her wild-ness. Now that I am a convert, I can understand when people say the only problem with going to Africa, is having gone to Africa. It changes you forever, and nobody you tell will ever be able to understand it until they go there, too. That is why I have partnered with International Becoming an Outdoors Woman. My goal is to take the intimidation out of going to Africa so more women can experience what I experienced and live their childhood dream of seeing this amazing continent.

Choose Your Safari Style & Discover Your Africa!

Each spring, I lead two very different adventures in Africa. Read the descriptions below and see which trip is more your style. Click through to the itineraries for more detailed information about each trip. Feel free to use our chat feature to connect with me for real time availability and any questions you may have.

Uganda: Safari w/ Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Style: Rustic & Active
When: April 19-30, 2020 (12 Days)

Animal Encounters: Mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, rhinoceros, Shoe-bill stork, Savannah elephants, forest elephants, zebras, lions (including tree climbing lions), Rothschild’s Giraffes.
Activities: forest hiking, game drives, boat trip on the Nile, and boat trip on Lake Victoria.
Lodging: 3-star hotels and eco-lodges throughout.
Skill-Level: Mostly easy. Mountain gorillas and chimpanzees trekking trails can vary from easy to moderate, to strenuous depending on where the troops are that day. The rangers assign participants to a trail based on their skill level and availability. Participants who have joint or stamina issues should talk to us to discuss.

Why I love this trip?

This is Africa off-the-beaten path and quite certainly a trip of a lifetime. This has all the fixings for true adventure including hiking into the jungle led by a ranger and scout in search of great apes. Safaris by jeep, boat, and wooden canoe in parks rich with wildlife. Uganda has a buzz about it. There is life everywhere. We cover over 1000 miles in 12 days from the dry Savannah to the cool mountain forests. We see places from your childhood history books like the Nile River and Lake Victoria.

Trip Cost: $4595 plus airfare.
Availability: 2/12 spots left

Tanzania: Best of The Northern Circuit, Arusha, Ngorongoro, & The Serengeti

Style: Semi-Luxury & Laid Back
When: May 5-15, 2020

Animal Encounters: Witness the great migration of the wildebeest and zebras and the animals that follow. See the big cats including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Activities: Jeep safaris, cultural programs with 3 different tribes.
Skill-Level: Easy.

Why we love this trip?

Huge herds of animals everywhere! Go to sleep to the sounds of wild animals like lions, zebras, hippos, and cape buffalo roaming around at night. Marvel at the harmony of so many different species of animals co-existing with each other. The other protected areas like Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a unique place to see literally a bowl-full of animals including rhinos, elephants, lions, and antelope. Olduvai Gorge is the setting for everything you learned about Louis Leakey in Anthropology 101.

We stay at a variety of 4-star camps and lodges, which is 5-star quality for most of us back in the USA. The service is above and beyond, and the lodges are set next to protected areas. There is always wildlife around, maybe even from your front porch.

Trip Cost: $5525 plus airfare.
Availability: 4/12 spots available

Are you hearing the call of the wild? Follow it to Tanzania!
