One of the questions women often have before joining a Green Edventures trip is: Who will I be traveling with?

We often describe our trips as adventures for like-minded women. But that doesn’t mean our travelers are all alike. Many of our guests are women over 50, although you’ll find a range of ages on our adventures. Some are seasoned international travelers and experienced hikers. Others are taking their first solo trip or trying an activity they’ve never done before. Many arrive without knowing another person in the group. What connects them isn’t their age, relationship status, profession, fitness level, or how many countries they’ve visited.  It’s how they approach the world.

• Curious Women Who Want to Experience a Destination

Our travelers don’t simply want to see a place. They want to understand and experience it.

They want to know why a landscape looks the way it does. They want to learn about wildlife and conservation, hear local stories, experience another culture, meet people who live there, and understand what makes a destination unique. Learning isn’t something we squeeze in around the adventure. It’s part of the adventure.

• Adventurous Doesn’t Mean Fearless

You don’t have to consider yourself an athlete or experienced adventurer to travel with Green Edventures. Being adventurous is more about being willing to try. Willing to put on the snorkel mask. Get in the kayak. Hike the trail. Walk on a glacier. Taste something unfamiliar. Talk to someone new. Get a little muddy. Be uncomfortable for a while.

And occasionally finish the day thinking, I can’t believe I just did that. Our travelers enjoy a sense of accomplishment. They understand that sometimes the experiences you remember most are the ones you had to work a little for.

• Independent Women Who Appreciate Strong Leadership

Many women who travel with us are confident and independent. They’re perfectly capable of traveling on their own. But they also appreciate being well led. They value knowledgeable, organized and confident leaders who pay attention to the details, make thoughtful decisions, adapt when circumstances change, and take charge when necessary.

They also want leaders who are approachable, encouraging and right there experiencing the adventure alongside them. It’s not about being coddled. It’s about knowing you’re in capable hands so you can relax, trust the journey and fully participate in the experience.

• Women Who Value Experiences That Are Meaningful and Real

Our itineraries are thoughtfully planned, but some of the best travel moments can’t be scheduled. Wildlife appears. Weather changes. The northern lights come out at 3 a.m. A conversation with a local lasts longer than expected. Someone spots a waterfall after dinner and we decide to go see it. Our travelers appreciate those moments. They don’t need every experience to be perfectly choreographed. They want travel that feels meaningful and real. They want nature, culture, learning, movement, challenge and discovery.

• More Than a Typical “Girls’ Trip”

There’s plenty of fun on a Green Edventures women’s adventure. There are inside jokes, long conversations, celebrations, ridiculous moments and a lot of laughter.

But the socializing isn’t the purpose of the trip. The shared experience creates the connection. You might hike somewhere extraordinary together, encourage someone through something she’s nervous about, learn something fascinating from a local guide, laugh over dinner about what happened that afternoon, or stand together silently watching wildlife. Those experiences have a way of turning strangers into friends.

• Solo Women Travelers Are Welcome

Many women join Green Edventures without a travel companion. Some are experienced solo travelers. Others have friends or partners who don’t share their interests, can’t travel when they can, or simply don’t want to do the kinds of adventures they want to do. So they come on their own.

Our small-group women’s adventures give you the independence of traveling solo without having to experience the journey alone. Our groups are supportive rather than competitive. You don’t have to be the strongest hiker, the most experienced traveler, or the bravest woman in the group. You simply need to be willing to participate, encourage others and be part of the experience.

Women often arrive knowing no one. Then something happens. Strangers become hiking partners. Someone cheers you on when you’re nervous. Dinner conversations get longer. Everyone starts laughing about something that happened three days earlier. By the end of the trip, exchanging numbers and talking about the next adventure feels completely natural. That’s the community part of Green Edventures.

• What Do We Mean by “Like-Minded Women”?

It doesn’t mean women who are all alike.

It means curious, adventurous and open-minded women who value learning, nature, authentic experiences, strong leadership and connection with others.

Many happen to be over 50. But what defines them isn’t a number. They’re women who are still curious. Still learning. Still willing to challenge themselves. Still excited to see what’s around the next corner. Women who appreciate both a good plan and an unexpected detour. Women who take the experience seriously without taking themselves too seriously. And women who know that going on an adventure without someone you know doesn’t mean you have to experience the world alone.

Come solo. Share the adventure. Leave with a community.
