  • Gullfoss Waterfall: Marvel at the raw power of this iconic “Golden Waterfall,” where glacial water thunders down two tiers into a rugged canyon.
  • Strokkur Geyser: Watch as this famous geyser erupts every 10-15 minutes, shooting steaming water up to 120 feet into the air—an epic photo and video opportunity!

In the late afternoon, we take relaxation to the next level. Sink neck-deep into steaming geothermal waters, float on pool noodles, and enjoy the magic of soaking in bubbling hot springs while snowflakes dance gently around you.

In the afternoon, gear up for an unforgettable adventure on Sólheimajökull Glacier, known as the “Sun Home Glacier.” With ropes, harnesses, and ice axes in hand, our expert glacier guide will teach us about this dynamic, ever-changing ice formation. Participants will then have the chance to try ice climbing, lowering into a crevasse or other glacier opening carefully chosen to suit the group’s skill level.

Before heading to our hotel, we stop at Reynisfjara, Iceland’s famous black sand beach. Walk along the shoreline, marvel at the towering basalt columns, and enjoy one of the country’s most photogenic coastal landscapes.

I had a wonderful time, exploring Iceland with the fire and ice trip. The leader, Kelly and the guide Inga were very professional and caring. Inga told many wonderful stories as she drove and guided us … More through Iceland. Kelly made sure that we had what we needed as we explored waterfalls and glaciers and Hot Springs. I will miss them.
I enjoyed trying all of the various foods of Iceland. The lamb was delicious as was the rye bread baked underground. That was the best bread I’ve ever eaten. I recommend this trip to anyone who would like to explore Iceland.

I just returned from a Green Edventures women’s trip to Iceland and highly recommend them. Our trip leader Kelly and tour guide Inga were incredible. Our accommodations and meals were of excellent quality … More and we had the perfect mix of activities and downtime. We hiked across glaciers, climbed a vertical ice wall in a glacial fissure with crampons and ice axes, saw waterfalls and tissues between tectonic plates, drove buggies, learned about Iceland history and culture, and saw the gorgeous northern lights.

F.A.Q.

I have more questions. Who can I talk to?

Call or email us! A real person will answer the phone (or call you back).
(888) 622-4911
info@3.17.200.177

What is the average age of the participants?

The average age range is 45-65 years. Our groups tend to be multi-generational, so there may be participants ranging from their 30s to their 70s. This trip is open to any woman who is healthy, active, and resonates with the itinerary.

Do women travel solo or with friends?

Both! There is usually a 60/40 split between solo travelers and those traveling with friends. By day 3, we all become good friends, and it’s hard to tell who is solo and who isn’t.

I am a solo traveler. Do I get charged more for a single room?

No. Solo travelers are paired with other solo travelers. There are no forced single supplements. If you want to upgrade to your own room, you add that to your package when you book.

Do I need any vaccinations?

None are required currently.

What happens after I sign up?

You will receive an automatic email confirmation indicating your deposit was received. Within 24-48 hours, someone from Green Edventures will follow up with a personal email welcoming you to the trip! We are excited to meet you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Pay a small deposit to secure your spot. Then, pay the balance in interest-free installments using a credit card or checking account. There is no bank transaction fees when you use your checking account. If you want the convenience of using a credit card, the bank will charge 3%. You can switch between two payment options at any time.

What is the cutoff date to confirm the trip?

The trip will need critical mass within 90 days of departure. If we don’t reach this minimum, a full refund will be issued.

Is airfare included in the price?

The package price covers land fees only. Participants need to book their own flight to Iceland. We can offer guidance, and once we have 10 participants, we will provide travel parameters for booking your flight.

How do I arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel?

Specific instructions for booking your airport transfer will be provided in your trip confirmation letter. Group return airport transfer on the last day is included. Airport transfer on day 1 is not included, giving participants flexibility in booking a flight that suits them.

Why aren’t most meals included?

In Iceland, it’s easy to order your own meals, and it gives participants more flexibility, especially for those with food restrictions. We sit at the same table and order separate meals, making payment easy at the end. Participants enjoy this approach.

Where do we stay?

We stay in a mix of 3-star hotels, cottages, and sometimes guest houses. All rooms are double occupancy with private bathrooms. In rural areas, accommodations may have shared bathrooms, but these will be clearly noted in the itinerary.

Do I need to be in shape to join this adventure?

Trips are designed for beginners and tailored to the individual. As long as you are healthy and active, you’ll be able to enjoy the trip at any age or stage of fitness. Local guides will teach you the skills you need for safe and enjoyable experiences.

How do I pack for Iceland?

You only need personal gear. All equipment is provided. Important items include waterproof, lightweight, breathable rain gear, and sturdy waterproof hiking boots. Trekking poles are optional for extra stability.

Here is a link to the packing list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hzaf9lILuTfZgFacaf_0Bh9LsnmgkGwB5OrH0QptSr0/edit?tab=t.0
