Student Group Travel Insurance Information (For Parents & Guardians)
This page is the central place for parents and guardians to review what type of travel insurance is included with a Green Edventures student trip, and to understand additional coverage options that may be purchased separately.
Important to note:
- The insurance included with the student trip is not a trip cancellation policy.
- It provides post-departure coverage only, meaning benefits begin after the trip has started.
- It does not cover SCUBA diving activities
- This page is designed to help families understand coverage and access recommended providers if additional protection is desired.
- Green Edventures does not represent any travel insurance companies, nor does Green Edventures guarantee any insurance coverage.
What Travel Insurance Is Included with the Student Group Trips
If your group’s custom booking page says “A Travelex Insurance Services Student Group Essentials plan is paid and provided by Green Edventures as part of your trip package,” then the following is true.
- This plan includes post-departure benefits only.
- For more information about your policy click on the link below and select your state of residence from the dropdown.
- The entire policy and contact information for your state of residence will be provided.

Attention SCUBA Divers!
If you are on a tour that includes SCUBA diving (not just snorkeling), and you are going to be SCUBA diving you must purchase separate insurance. Proof of dive accident insurance is required and is purchased separately. We recommend DAN.
- Go to Divers Alert Network using the link below.
- Purchase a DAN membership.
- Then select and purchase your insurance.
- You must purchase both a DAN membership and insurance.
