Returned home recently from my second trip to Iceland with Green Edventures, first was Wellness and Mindfulness and second was Ring Road Tour. Everything about both trips was awesome, from Carrie(administrative)making sure we had all travel docs in order, Tara(tour leader)giving us information on tour sights and detailed packing instructions, and her ability to bring a group of strangers together and Inga(local guide) is so knowledgeable of Iceland and its history. It’s obvious when you are on a tour with Green Edventures(Tara and Inga) how much they love what they are doing and want to share there knowledge and love of Iceland with you. You’ll start a tour with Tara and a group of people, you end the tour with a group of friends, knowledge and experiences from a different part of the world. Shari Mitchell17 days agoFinished my second tour with Green Edventures. The first was the Iceland Hot Springs and Mindfulness Retreat. The most recent was the Iceland Ring Road. Tara does an exceptional job of preparing you for a trip. Communication, opportunity to ask questions, timelines for anything needed pre trip, detailed packing lists, etc. that makes it so easy to be prepared for the fun ahead. The fun starts the minute you get there. Tara engages the group throughout the trip in a way that brings the group together. By the end of the trip you have new friends you didn’t know at the start, and a feeling of family…you matter. And you just might have seen things you never expected to see. Green Edventures is flexible, if an opportunity presents to see or experience something unexpected, they will seize the opportunity. Inga (local guide) is such a fun storyteller. She does an amazing job of sharing the history and culture of Iceland. From the cities to the rural and everything in between, you see Iceland in a way you’d never see without a guide like Inga. kristin watt26 days agoI took the Ring Road Tour with a bunch of friends I. early October. Iceland is sparse and beautiful all at the same time. This tour allowed us to explore the entire ring and golden circle. Very cool geology! We even fit in a couple spa experiences and a plunge in the Arctic Ocean! The accommodations were very nice. In addition to learning the techniques needed to knit a Lopapeysa, we were able to ramble and explore a part of Iceland most tourists don't get to see. Donna STEACKER36 days agoIceland Knitting tour captured the magic of blending touring Iceland Westfjords land, people, sheep and marine life with taking our knitting skills in an Icelandic directions through workshops, factory tour of IS-TECH and our sample lopipeysa sweaters creations. Our local tour guides and sweater designer provided information from first hand knowledge and their hearts. Our small women group bonded with laughter and stories while knitting, walking up to waterfalls, along beaches, viewing musuems, swimming in thermal springs, and visiting sheep farms. Food was wonderful and at times entertaining throughout the tour. I traveled alone to the Icelandic knitting tour and left with connections to the group and Iceland. Rebe Huntman41 days agoMy September 2026 knitting trip with Green Edeventures exceeded expectations on every front! Local guides and knitting designer Ingrid and Bergros were beyond generous in sharing their incredible knowledge about Iceland and knitting. And our Green Edventures tour guide Lori seamlessly guided us through every step of our itinerary with humor and grace. We got to see and do so many things that tourists don’t generally get to do, from visiting local artisans and yarn dyers in their homes to eating a homemade lunch of lamb soup at a local farm, to participating in the annual sheep roundup. We saw Northern Lights; we toured wool mills and goat farms; we soaked up Nordic culture and mythology; we relaxed in geothermal springs, and so much more! The highlights of the trip included the hours we spent with Icelandic knitting designer Bergros working on our shawls of myth and magic, the day we spent at Inga’s farm, and getting to know the incredible women who guided us, to hear their stories, and see Iceland through their eyes. Even though it was just one other woman with me, the tour quickly created a real sense of community—by the end, it felt like we were traveling together as a group. A big highlight was the knowledgeable guide, who shared thoughtful information and made every day feel engaging. I also truly appreciated the conscientious eco practices, which felt genuine, well planned, and easy to learn from. Everything was organized well, and the logistics ran smoothly throughout. Edna Baden73 days agoAfter hiking the Laugavegur trail with Green Edventures last year, Tara agreed to organize the same hike for women 60+ in 2023. I loved it so much at age 70 that I decided to come back at age 71 and I don't regret one step! If you are in decent shape, good health, enjoy hiking across diverse and unbelievably beautiful terrain, don't ,miss out on this trek in 2024. Lau R en74 days agoI recently returned from the Iceland Eclipse Multisport Trip with Green Edventures 🇮🇸, and I can honestly say this was the most fantastic travel experience of my life! This was my first-ever solo travel experience, and I began the adventure as a solo traveler and ended it with 14 new adventure buddies and what I truly believe will be lifelong friendships. ❤️ Tara, our group organizer and leader, was absolutely fantastic. She made a genuine effort to get to know each of us individually, which made the entire experience feel so personal and welcoming. Every activity was incredibly well organized, varied, and thoughtfully planned. Traveling around Iceland was completely seamless. Tara and Inga’s knowledge of Iceland was a huge part of what made this trip so exceptional. I felt like a VIP, getting to experience incredible off-the-beaten-path sights, adventures, and activities that I never would have discovered on my own. One of my biggest takeaways is this: if you’re considering traveling with Green Edventures but are hesitant to go solo, DO IT! You’ll never really feel alone. Ann Sutphen74 days agoI had an amazing trip with Green Ed venture to Iceland. If you have the opportunity to tour with Tara and Inga take it. They are a great duo, leaning on their friendship to handle the inevitable hurdles that come with every tour. Tara is incredibly thoughtful. She got up at 3 am on our last night to show me the aurora borealis. It was faint, but I could see it undulate with my naked eye. Inga provided the knowledge and stories only a native Icelander could share - from hot spring etiquette to the best local cookies. Iceland is a breathtakingly beautiful country. Two of my favorite trips were things I would never have booked. I loved hiking on a glacier and kayaking in the North Atlantic. Tara took advantage of impromptu opportunities. After dinner one night we spontaneously hiked to a waterfall we could see from the restaurant. The food and hotels were all very nice - a great improvement over the chain hotels I’m used to. Every day was filled with a variety of activities. We hit all the well known highlights but had time in some less touristy spots as well. I would have been disappointed if I hadn’t seen icebergs on diamond beach, but I didn’t need more than half an hour. I relished walking in a lava field by myself one morning. Linda Vernaleken85 days agoTara and Inga were awesome guides on a recent Laugavegur hike completed in Iceland. Inga's passion for her country was evident in the stories and knowledge she shared along the way. I felt very safe having her guide us along the trail and learned a lot about Iceland and the landscapes we hiked thru. Tara was one of the most organized guides I have hiked with. Always on top of accommodations and food, weather and vehicle travel, there was never any doubt that we were well taken care of. I wanted to specifically mention that as a celiac hiker, there were plenty of great tasting options available at each meal and the guides were aware of how important it was to not cross contaminate. That was very much appreciated. The hike itself was difficult but not extreme. Beautiful, changing landscape with some elevation gain and loss on most days. The Spa Lagoon at the end of the hike was the icing on the cake! No hesitation in recommending Green Edventure tours to take you thru the 55km of the Laugavegur Trail and a most memorable hiking adventure. Five stars !Posted on Google

Our guides Tara and Inga assured every important detail was taken care of in a quiet professional manner, each hiker was treated with respect, we received wonderful stories and information about this amazing island country which made this a beautiful journey of a lifetime. Our trip leader, Tara, and our local guide, Inga, were well-organised, supportive, and brought infectious, positive energy to every day. Our group of ladies quickly became a close-knit family, swapping stories of past adventures and travel tips throughout the hike. The landscape was otherworldly with a new, stunning view around every corner, including steaming volcanic vents, rolling rhyolite mountains in shades of red and gold, black lava fields, and glaciers. The huts and food along the way exceeded expectations, and the pace of each day felt comfortable and flexible, with plenty of room to soak in the views rather than rush through them. There was beauty and depth on this multi-sport tour. Not only were we immersed in the beautiful Icelandic landscapes, we learned about the rich history and culture of the people. The tour was very well organized while leaving some room for spontaneity. Both Tara and Inga were excellent guides but more importantly great people to be around. gia sheridan92 days agoOver the last 6 years I’ve gone on multiple trips with Green EDventures, and once again, the amount of trip planning, preparation, and communication from start to finish was incredible. This past week, I travelled to Belize with tour leader Aimee Lowe for a trip that can only be described as a once in a lifetime experience! From 7 days of incredible diving on Turneffe Atoll with Blackbird Caye, to our time traveling through the Belizean jungle and ancient Mayan cave systems, I have nothing but praise and gratitude for this trip and all the wonderful people who made it possible. Not only did we have the chance to dive and snorkel at some bucket list locations in Belize (the Blue Hole!), when we weren’t in the water Aimee taught us about the local landscapes, culture, and marine life. We also got to meet some of the conservationists from Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve who explained their part in protecting this unique marine environment. In the jungle on the mainland, our cave tour experiences were truly unmatched. We hiked through the ATM cave and visited ancient Mayan artifacts- which was easily one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! I cannot rave enough to all my friends and family not just about Belize but also about the GE and the incredible trip leader that made it possible!+7Posted on Google
Victoria Myer99 days agoMy trip to East Greenland with Green Edventures was impactful, awe-inspiring and educational. I loved being in an area that was not developed and visiting and staying in the local Inuit Villages. The natural beauty of the mountains, fjords and icebergs is undescribable. Tara planned and managed the trip with great care for pre-trip preparation with us, for cultural and educational opportunities like a local dance demonstration, being hosted for a meal in a local's home, visiting a deserted WWII US military base, staying two nights in a traditional Inuit style home, a day on a glacier which included a spectacular ice cave under the glacier and lot's of walking/hiking. Inga, our guide, lead us through the spectacular arctic tundra, the fjords, and each local and cultural experience providing historical and cultural background and stories with an enthusiastic smile! Before the trip, I wasn't sure I was capable of completing all of the hikes, especially with my ongoing knee issues. But Tara and Inga believed in me every step of the way and made me feel capable of accomplishing things I never thought I could.They created an environment where I always felt safe, supported, and encouraged. Their confidence in me gave me confidence in myself, and I surprised myself with what I was able to do.The group of women on this trip was equally incredible. What an incredible trip packed with tons of activities: educational learning about coral reefs and restoration; dolphin behaviors and training; fish identification; RIMS; local school visit; ziplining; snorkeling and more snorkeling, and so much more…resort, the staff and food was wonderful too. And Kelly is an amazing trip leader!! So organized, informative, communicative and just downright welcoming and sweet. Met a great group of like-minded women who love to travel and learn. Kate M226 days agoIf you’re contemplating a trip with Green Edventures, specifically the Women’s Iceland Hot Springs and Mindfulness Tour, this is your sign! It’s a YES! I chose this tour because I was looking for a group of likeminded women, and Iceland seemed like an adventure! The tour exceeded my expectations in every way. From posh lagoons like Forest Lagoon to local pools and swimming in the Arctic Ocean - you will relax, challenge yourself, meditate, get a sound bath - it’s a wonderful trip. I went alone and ended up meeting wonderful women and making dear friends. The food is amazing, and the meditations and journaling are so heartfelt. Amy Grace241 days agoI just returned from a women’s eco adventure tour in Baja Mexico with Green Edventures. This is my fourth trip with GE and each trip is a unique experience. In Baja we were met at the airport by our guide Chabelo and tour host Lori and the adventure begins! After a van ride to the coast, during which our guide noted the fascinating geology and botanical wonders we arrived in La Paz. The next day was morning and evening whale watching seeing the gray whales. We saw so many of these wondrous creatures! We were also thrilled by curious pelicans, and had a pot of dolphins, dancing in the wake of our boat. The next day it was onto the incredible Espiritu Santo Island where we were introduced to our “glamping” site. Although we were technically camping, we were sleeping on cots and there were even flush toilets! Each day we had three amazing meals prepared by an on-site chef. From our island home, we had snorkeling trips to view the rich Coral reefs surrounding the island and saw a vast array of sea life. A short walk inland revealed the unique ecology of the island including some endemic plants. And a highlight of the trip included snorkeling adventures with an opportunity to swim with sea lions in the nearby colony. The sea lions were curious and playful, and would often swim up to diverse to get a good look at you and see if they could engage you in games or a chin scratch! The day got even better when we had an opportunity to swim with the mobula rays. It was like swimming over moving piece of art! Finally, on our last full day, we were sad to leave the island but excited An opportunity to swim with whale sharks in the whale shark reserve near La Paz. The experience was enhanced with the expertise of our Guide Michelle, a marine biologist, with a special passion for whale sharks. With the expertise of our boat driver and guide we were able to all have a chance to view the whale sharks, underwater and experience these magnificent animals up close. On our last night in town, we had a lovely dinner with our guides and a chocolate tasting, which was the sweet dessert on a magical trip. At all points during the trip, our guys and host as well as the excellent support. Staff made sure that we were safe, well fed, and educated. The guides on this trip were obviously passionate about the animals and environment in which they live and work. The knowledge and enthusiasm is shared freely each day. Teresa Shock249 days agoWent on Baja Excursion with Green Edventures and so happy I did. I've been home for 5 days and still in disbelief about everything I experienced on this trip. We saw grey whales, humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, many different fish, coral, sea turtle, and I swam alongside a whale shark! The group leader, Tara; the guides, Michelle and Chabelo; and all the team were wonderful. Even before the trip, they provided detailed information so that I was well prepared and packed appropriately. I was anxious about snorkeling activities and thought I might have to sit out on some of them, but they really made the effort to make sure I was trained and comfortable. I also felt and appreciated the deep respect and awe they all have for the environment and the marine animals we encountered. And, the food--so wonderful. I highly recommend this trip and Green Edventures. I enjoyed it so much, I was already investigating their other excursions on my way home!+3Posted on Google

Linda Bray258 days agoI just returned from the 2026 Baja Women’s Adventure & Gray Whales Tour (Feb 7–14) with Green Edventures and tour leader Tara Short, and it was truly one of the most extraordinary travel experiences of my life. Tara designed the journey like a perfect crescendo. Each day built on the last — learning something new, gaining confidence, and then stretching just a little farther. By the end of the week, we were doing things we never imagined we could do when we first arrived. We began with unforgettable gray whale encounters in Puerto López Mateos and Puerto Chale. Then came the magic of camping on Espiritu Santo Island — no crowds, no other tourists, just our group of 14, incredible guides, and chefs who somehow created fresh, delicious, beautiful meals in the middle of paradise. The weather was perfect, the stars were endless, and every moment felt both adventurous and peaceful. We hiked among the towering cardón cactus, the tallest cactus in the world. We kayaked in tandem along the island’s stunning shoreline to see sea lions sunning themselves on the rocks. Then we snorkeled with them at Los Islotes — playful, curious, and absolutely unforgettable. And the grand finale: snorkeling with whale sharks, the largest fish on the planet. Awe-inspiring, humbling, and breathtaking. This trip was more than an adventure. It was empowering, joyful, and deeply connecting — with nature, with new friends, and with our own sense of courage. If you are even thinking about this tour, do it. You will come home stronger, happier, and filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Tara was awesome, as were her very informative guides, Chabelo and Michelle. She also provided boat and ground crew, and two fab cooks. All of our needs were taken care of. The guides were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and they paid close attention to everyone’s ability level, offering help quietly and respectfully so no one ever felt singled out. They genuinely wanted everyone to have a great experience. Everything was very well organized, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the trip. We saw all the nature in the itinerary — and even more. Once on the ground, Chabelo and Michele ensured we were well-informed about all of the stunning ecological sights, and the sea creatures. We were certainly not expecting world-class dining at our remote camping site, but that’s exactly what we got! Ana and Lolly made superior meals every single day. Incredible! I traveled solo, but was part of a group which gave me the perfect balance of independence and support. I felt safe, included, and well taken care of by our trip leader, Tracey Seward, the entire time! Machu Picchu was the highlight - breathtaking, emotional, and completely worth the early rise to catch the bus. Our starting point, Cusco, is a beautiful walkable city full of history and culture and the local market is fantastic! So many Peruvian products at reasonable prices. You will want to bring back all the things! Climbing Rainbow Mountain was challenging especially with the altitude but the views at the top made it more than worth it! I highly recommend Green Edventures and the Peru trip for anyone looking for adventure, culture, regional food and incredible scenery, especially solo travelers.Posted on Google
Shannon Schafer266 days agoI took a group of 18 students to Baja Mexico for 7 days in early January. Green Edventures is hands-down the only way to take high school students on an educational yet fun adventure. From beginning to end, everything is organized, affordable, communication is quick and easy, and the trip is well planned with plenty of activities as well as downtime. They teach students while letting them determine their own experience under a safe and watchful eye. Their entire staff was knowledgeable, kind, and supportive to every teacher and student on our trip. When weather didn't accommodate initial plans, they were quick to shift to other activities that were worthwhile. I will definitely travel with them again and recommend that every teacher looking to take a group of high school students on a trip that has both fun and educational aspects does the same. Sue Clearfield298 days agoI traveled to Costa Rica with my daughter and five other women through Green Edventures. This was my fourth trip with Green edventures. I like activity and hiking and "roughing it" so the description matched my travel desires. It did not disappoint! Green Edventures excels at preparing participants for the journey, so everyone is on the same page, has the same info, and can be prepared for the trip. All info provided was accurate and helpful. The pre-trip zoom meeting was informative and though I wasn't there live, it was great to see and hear from the people that would be part of our group. I had never traveled with any in this group. Accommodations were very good. Comfortable and clean. Our group had one problem that was unexpected and couldn't be helped, when a loud band played in the middle of the night on our last night close to our lodging. Of course, we had been lulled to sleep the previous nights by howler monkeys, ocean waves, rain on a metal roof, and macaws, so we were pretty sensitized to quiet....very quiet nights. The hardest thing for this 69 year old woman (yikes!) was getting acclimated to the heat and humidity. It was a rough couple of days for me, but then all was good. I could keep up with the group and not feel much distress. The hikes were challenging but always at a pace that fit each individual. If you wanted to be in the front-then you would walk with Pepe, our Costa Rican guide, and if you wanted to take it slow, you would walk in the back with Kelly, our trip leader. Never a problem for anyone to complete each hike. Of course, there were always breaks when Pepe would see monkeys, or a specific bird, or an interesting ant hill, etc. Pepe's wealth of knowledge of the natural sciences is astounding. But what is more is that he connects it to us, to the people of the world, to the environment, to our spiritual self. We weren't just looking at an ant hill, but rather an ecosystem that impacts much more than just those bunch of ants. I don't want to review every hike or experience because you will want to experience it yourself! I did have two favorites. One, was visiting a family who ran a cacao farm, and was producing high quality products. We were greeted with fresh fruit and hot chocolate, seasoned with chili (amazing). After a tour of the farm, tasting several varieties of cacao beans, and learning about the process getting it from tree to chocolate bar, we made our own chocolate! From grinding the beans, to removing the chaff, to pressing it into shapes and flavoring it with nuts, spices, etc. we had a bar to take home. It was so much fun. Lunch was fresh and delicious. Beans/rice and patacones (fried plantains, my fave) with fresh juice and of course, chocolate fondue with fresh fruit to dip for dessert. The family was terrific and made every attempt to help us understand the process and the business. I wanted to stay for the night! My other favorite activity was forest bathing with a 1000 year old grandfather tree. Everyone had a different response, all uniquely personal, and deep. I cried. I could feel the pulsations of the tree at the exposed root the I was touching. So wonderful. Kelly and Pepe made every effort to help us experience this beautiful wild country. They succeeded 100%! The group itself was made up of wildly fun women, so smart and caring. We helped each other and had a great time. Pepe and Kelly deserve the highest rating (FIVE GOLD STARS) for being such responsible, caring , intelligent and fun leaders. And I must add, that Green Edventures always has safety in mind. So what might seem like annoying repeat reminders are for the safety of participants, and I would always pay attention to these reminders. Thanks you for a great trip. My first solo trip and this would have been a logistical nightmare for me to plan. Every single day was filled with a new activity, jungle hike, animal encounter. Kelly Van Laanen was our Tour Leader, she was aware of our needs before we realized we needed something, kind, so much fun, always engaging us, positive, and making sure our Costa Rica experience was top notch! Planned a New Years Eve celebration, with eco friendly gifts, bird noise makers, hats, photo shoot😂 Pepe, our local guide's knowledge was so expansive. He was intoxicatingly giddy every time we located a new species, bird, reptile. His perseverance in locating a sloth, everyone's bucket list, paid off on our last night!!! Green Edventures’ Tanzania Women’s Safari (August 2025) was one of the most meaningful and impactful experiences of my life. Every day brought unforgettable moments, witnessing the Great Migration, getting up close with lions and elephants, and exploring the breathtaking Arusha National Park, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. The guides that Green Edventures partners with at Matangos Expeditions were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife and the natural environment. They helped us connect with the local culture and truly feel a part of Tanzania, even if only for a few beautiful days. They always seemed to know the best locations and hidden spots to see the Big Five. The experiences with the Hadzabe, Datoga, and Maasai communities were especially meaningful and invaluable. From the moment we landed, the trip was seamless; transfers, lodges, meals, and all safari logistics were perfectly organized and completely taken care of. She was not only well informed on every kind of wildlife you could imagine, but also possessed a curiosity about every living thing. I felt very safe with her and very much cared for. This was my first Green Edventures trip.This was a different trip in that it really felt like we were all part of the team. Our representatives in Quito as well as our local tour guide in the Galapagos could not have been better. We learned so much on this trip. One of the best parts was the delightful personalities of the tour participants and how well we all meshed. The trip was very well planned. This was my first Green Edventures and my first guided tour vacation. I went with a family member and we shared our lodging. Loved our super knowledgeable tour host and guides. Great excursions and activities. This particular trip, to the Galapagos, would hv been a logistical nightmare if I was a lone or couple traveler. So I can appreciate the work that went into securing our all of our buses, boats, ect. Food fantastic, but too much of it. Felt like we were eating all the time. Hotel choices were fine. But the room at our longest stay(5 nights) lacked any windows with no ventilation and was small, while I got to hear from some of the other ppl in our group(one being single occupancy) about how large and great their rooms were. So I feel like the room situation could use some fine tuning. Overall it was a lovely tour and a positive experience.+3Posted on Google

Brenda MD360 days agoIceland is beautiful. The 2 stars is the tour agency mishandled me having covid on the tour. We were far from a clinic and I was told I was going to have to isolate per American CDV guidelines…so essentially leave the tour. No plan on where to stay. Only plan was that they would order me a taxi in the morning. Told me to reach out to my insurance company (and check my policy on my cell phone…at 10pm with a 101.8 fever. This was an expensive tour and I’m sure Covid-19 has come up in the last 5 years…Green Edventures didn’t perform at the standards a tour company should in a difficult situation. I asked for financial compensation as I incurred a $1148. airline ticket due to Green Edventures lack of competent decision making and corporate misleadership…they told me sorry Charlie…not professional.+0Posted on Google
Caitlin Kankovsky371 days agoThe Mt. Kilimanjaro trip was an absolutely splendid trip. It was wonderful to visit a different county, culture, people, and environment. Everyone that I came into contact with was thrilled to answer my many questions about so many things. Yes, there are dangers with going to such an environment as the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. But, the locals that provide the support and guiding are exquisite in so many ways. They will keep you safe, and supported no matter what. The local Tour Guide Leader, Faza, is going for his 400th trip up the mountain. I do not think there is a plant or rock he doesn’t know. One of his Trail Guides, Daniel, was part of mountain rescue before becoming a trail guide. They have plans for everything. I always felt like things were under control, calm and steady. High Altitude environments are inherently dangerous. If you are not able to, for whatever reason, complete the training required, do not expect to summit. Make sure you understand the risks and symptoms before committing yourself to this trip. There are really good reasons why so few people have actually summited. Neither Faza, his crew, nor Green Edventures leaders like Tracey will allow you endanger yourself to try. And I think that makes them even more qualified to keep everyone safe. Local transportation is handled by equally competent and question answering staff. The sleeping pads are wonderful. I rented a sleeping bag and it was wonderfully warm. I was picking and eating ripe berries on the world 5th tallest mountain. I also have pictures of myself with my head in and above the clouds. As long as you respect and honor the environmental factors, this trip will be perhaps your most transformational trip ever.Posted on Google

The Dynjandi Waterfall was breathtaking, marvelous and powerful. Bergros and knitting truly helped me get better knitting skills. Inga, our guide was informative and patient. Green Edventures offered a woman-focused great experience: wonderful foods, great sites, friendly and safe, educational and inspiring. I am not well-traveled, but I definitely picked the best place to have a first-time experience that left me wanting to travel again. Iceland felt safe. The pace is relaxed. While Reykjavik is definitely the "hot spot" for many tourists, I would challenge people to consider time to explore. The Westfjords was my trip destination and although getting there was time consuming, there was so much to see along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip from the moment I met the rest of the group in Cusco until boarding the flight for home 8 days later. What an amazing group of women I got to share the week with! Smart, tough, kind, funny women! The trip leader Tracey was very organized to the smallest details and kept things on time and running smoothly. The local guides Guido and Americo shared a wealth of knowledge of the Peruvian people and the amazing places we visited. Organized with delicious food and comfortable lodgings in spectacular locations in the Westfjords. Inga and Bergros generously shared their culture, knowledge and love of Iceland which was the richest part of the trip for me. Bergros is a top notch designer and creative artist but also a literary historian, nature lover and patient teacher. Inga was a ball of energy, joy and also generous with her personal stories that made us love not just the landscape but the incredible people who come from it. Our tour (Iceland Knitting Tour) was so thoughtfully organized. Lori, Inga and Bergrós, our guides and knitting instructors, were so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. The tour materials were detailed and well documented. The tour activities were simply incredible -- I treasure the people, places and experiences my mother-in-law and I got to meet through this trip. Well organized by the planners and our group leaders who made every effort to ensure the travelers requests were answered and/or fulfilled where possible. Our common theme of a love for knitting was included along with truly getting to know the REAL Iceland and its sheep culture. I joined this tour as an inexperienced traveler, and this group made everything so easy for me. We were fully immersed in the culture and history of this beautiful country! Wandering through museums and historical sites on your own is a wonderful experience, but having two guides at each site added so much more. I have a whole new appreciation for the work that goes into a skein of yarn before the actual knitting or crocheting!!! My highlights are many … hard to decide but seeing the sheep wander into the ocean where the seals were playing was beyond words and meeting the ladies that truly hold the Icelandic heritage together was educational as well as feeling that you became part of their family ❤️ much thanks to Bergros our designer with the sweetest heart of encouragement, Inga for her humor, home & direction to get us to do fun sheep roundup with her local sheep farming friends… both ladies had excellent stories that truly brought the trip to life!!! Christine Crepeault429 days agoWonderful trip on the Salmon River in Idaho. Exceeded expectations. Green Edventures does a stellar job of vetting local vendors and outfitters to carry off their trips. This was my 9th trip with GE. My WOW moment was being able to kayak on the river in the rapids. It was a joy to have all arrangements taken care of — including hotels, meals, and excursions — and to be able to focus solely on taking in the incredibly dramatic and breathtaking sights of Iceland. The breathtaking beauty, sharing it with my wife, sister-in-law and dear friend, as well as traveling alongside 15 amazing women from the U.S. created something unforgettable. Annie Carouba446 days agoWe just returned from the Iceland Multi-Sport adventure with Green Edventures. Its hard to encapsulate what just happened but I'll try! From the moment we arrived and met our guides Emily and Inga, we were put at ease and knew we were in for a good trip. The knowledge of these two and the care that was put into the accommodations, hikes, water experiences, the food choices, the routes taken, even the cool van that we used for the duration of the journey; it all was created with such care. Our last day, we went to the Sky Lagoon to soak before boarding our flights. It was the best possible choice! Memories keep coming back that I had forgotten and each one is like a sweet gift left way in the back underneath the christmas tree. Hotel accommodations/guesthouses were really nice. If you are looking for adventure this is the trip for you, we kayaked, hiked, rode horses, walked behind waterfalls, relaxed in an amazing spa, really too much to list. Julie Sheehan459 days agoI had the great fortune of experiencing a multiport tour in Iceland in July with Tara and Inga. From the community created, to the dream scapes we witnessed, to all of the laughter and memories made.. each day was well paced and worth every penny. We learned about the history, the geology and the culture. We soaked in hot springs and lagoons, kayaked towards the sea, trekked across a glacier, rode horses on the beach and walked behind waterfalls. I came home with my heart, soul and spirit filled to the brim. I traveled by myself and enjoyed my own room while also having warm company. If you are considering doing it, take the leap! Deb Hansen470 days agoJuly 2025: I don’t think anyone but Green Edventures can deliver so well on an East Greenland Tour! From planning to execution while there, everything seemed flawless! I love visiting new places without the worry/hassle of determining my own itinerary. I will be back for more trips to come. 💚 July 2023: Iceland is incredible! I was able to do the Laugavegur Trail and Multi - Sport trips back to back. I highly recommend either (or both)! Tracey BeFay478 days agoI had a great time participating in the Iceland Women's Mindfulness and Multisport activity. The other travelers were nice, friendly and easy to get along with. The leader Emily was wonderful, well informed, familiar with the sites we visited and conversant. The guide Thora was best. She was knowledgeable, eager and proud to share her country with us. The itinerary was well thought out and executed. Mornings started with yoga followed by a different activity daily. We saw popular sites, hiked and saw so many waterfalls. Ninety percent of the activities were new to me and I succeeded in them all. We had plenty of access to thermal pools to rest our weary bodies at the end of the day. Debbie pinardo485 days agoLoved Loved Loved this trip! We climbed Kilimanjaro. We took the long slow route (9 days) but it was perfect for our group. The guides and porters were wonderful. You could not have done it without their great support both physically and mentally. Everything on the trip was taken care of and we all felt safe the whole time. They really ensured all our needs were met, whilst having a ton of fun and showing us a wonderful and safe time in Iceland. Both Emily and Pora, built an incredible rapport with the group of 10 women that we were all very sad to leave Iceland and each other. Our goodbyes were very teary! The activities were great, the bus and all of the accommodations very comfortable. And to top it off, the group of 9 ladies got along really well. It was a bonding. This is my 3rd time taking a large group of students on an Eco-Tour out of the country, but the first time with Green Edventures. The difference in my trip to Roatan compared to the others in value, experience, and safety is beyond compare! We swam with sharks, restored coral back on the reef, snorkeled and SCUBA over a dozen times and also got to tour the island to see the unique culture of Roatan. Our Tour Guides, Baraza and Karato, along with Vitalis from Matangos Expeditions, were extremely knowledgeable about the Tanzanian animals, people and customs. They were also great at spotting animals. The accommodations were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff at all of the locations were very welcoming. The Matango Safari leader group of Baraza, Karato and Vitalis were beyond stellar. We felt safe, well-informed and educated every step of the way. The hot area balloon ride, my first, was a great way to see the animals up close and personal from a completely different perspective. Keep up the good work! Expert tour guides who found every animal and bird imaginable while driving expertly in wild road conditions. Unique and comfortable accommodations in and near the national parks.-:The itinerary was perfectly timed to make the most of every day. Our group leader was fun, energetic and took wonderful nature photos. Best of all a terrific group of interesting, intelligent women who laughed and played together effortlessly, bonding over our mutual love of nature and the outdoors.. Marina Beirne533 days agoThis was my 4th trip to Africa but my first with Green Edventures and it did not disappoint. We started in Entebbe, Uganda for 12 days with the 2 big highlights being hiking to the Mountain Gorillas. I’m an experienced hiker all over the world but this one was one of the most difficult, following our ranger while he was bushwhacking and the gorillas were moving away from us. Fantastic. We got up close finally…fantastic. Then trekking to the Mountain Chimpanzees; unbelievable. Hard to pick a favorite. On day one we found the rare Shoebill Stork. We were gobsmacked. And then saw 2 more at the end of the trip. Experienced an earthquake and saw erupting volcanos across the border in the DRC. Of course we saw the Big 5. Our trip Leader , Lori, was amazing and the 2 guides, Paul and Sam were princes among men. A guide I happen to have a conversation with at one of our lodge’s unsolicited told me Paul is a legend in Uganda, the finest guide in the country. We were honored. Uganda is a very poor nation so you will experience this as you drive through the country and meet the people. The difference between Green Edventures and higher end companies is you drive everywhere, you do not fly internally from lodge to lodge. But your experiences are worth it. There were 9 women on our trip and we all fell in love with each other. Most did not know each other; it’s like we were supposed to be together. Friends for life now. I followed Uganda with Tanzania with Green Edventures. I decided to add Tanzania at the last minute whilst in Uganda and am so happy I did. The cultural experiences we had on this trip were just nothing like you could ever dream about. One in particular, we visited the Hadzabe tribe , a Bushman tribe of hunter gatherers. They lived on wild game and basically tubers the women gathered. We participated in a hunt early in the morning with the younger men….they went small bird hunting with bow and arrows with 9 women from the US running after them. This would make a great movie. I must say this was never on my bucket list but you should add it to yours. We then went on to visit 4 more tribes. Fantastic. Of course we saw the Big 5. In both countries our Land Cruiser/s were charged by Bull Elephants. Quite exciting. Our leader was Lori and our guides Baraza and Vitalis were outstanding. I recommend you do both trips because once you are there you might as well stay. Bang for the buck is huge.+22Posted on Google

Stacy Russell539 days agoUganda - Gorilla trekking. If that sounds amazing, it is! I have never taken an organized tour prior to this one with Green Edventures. I've traveled all over the world on my own and cherish unique experiences, not cookie cutter tours. Traveling with Green Edventures was a unique experience. The guides, Paul and Sam, were extraordinary in their knowledge of Ugandan animals, people, and culture. In addition they were expert drivers with delightful sense of humor, and arranged unique experiences that put us in touch with the people of Uganda. Lori, the trip leader, fostered a sense of community among the women and her excitement of what we might experience each day was infectious. We saw the Big 5 and more animals that I could ever imagine but if we didn't see even one, the trip would have been worth it just being with Paul, Sam, and Lori. Lynn Bennett587 days agoThis was my second tour with Tara and Inga. I just returned from the Iceland Women’s Hot Springs Mindfulness and Northern Lights Tour. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew I needed restoration of my inner harmony after a difficult year of medical issues. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was totally blown away by this experience. The sessions scheduled with professional women taught methods of grounding, meditation, manifestation, breathing techniques, transformation and more. I had profound experiences during the floatation therapy and the Nidra sound healing session. Visiting the spas and pools along the way was very relaxing and fun. Our small group of ladies swam in the Arctic Ocean using breathing techniques we had learned. There were 7 of us that bonded and will remain in our hearts forever.Posted on Google
Kathy Groft587 days agoThis trip was a highlight of my entire life! I was hoping for a Mindfulness-based peaceful journey and a few hot springs. What I got was a life-changing experience! Nine women traveling From Reykjavík the entire way to Akureyri having laughs, conversation, journaling, learning about Iceland, And a hot spring/hot tub every single day for 10 days! We even got into the Arctic ocean after learning how to breathe and how to do it from our Icelandic guide, Inga. Inga and the company owner, Tara, created my perfect trip! I've been dreaming of going there for many years and it far exceeded my expectations. I made some friends with whom I know I will stay in touch. This country is the most scenic, beautiful landscape I've ever seen. The people are friendly, the cities and country are very clean, the water taste better than any water you can get anywhere else, and they even have gas station ice cream that beats anything I get in an ice cream shop here! I was able to connect with a couple of ladies ahead of time and make additional plans pre and post tour with a buddy. The tour was exceptional with full days of adventures and sight seeing. Our guides Tara and Inga were fun as well as very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. They were prepared to make alternative plans according to the weather or circumstances (like the ring road flood and closure) so we never missed out on an activity. Kim Bellis589 days agoTara Short and Ingabörg Guðjónsdóttir have created a well thought out trip to recharge your mind and soul. We visited many unique hot springs and pools. Each day was an adventure learning about natural energy flow, breathing techniques, and meditation practices. We experienced a sound bath in a yurt, which was amazing! I even took a dip in the Artic Ocean, which was exhilarating. Ingabörd shared a lot of the hidden gems and historical places that you wouldn't experience on any other tours. The best part of this small group trip was meeting like minded people and witnessing everyone's transformation to their best self. She created an atmosphere of excitement, connection with the environment, and so many opportunities to expand our knowledge and skills. The marine biologist, as well as our other local leader, provided amazing context for all of our activities. The attention to detail was amazing as was instruction for every level for our various activities. From whales to sea lions and snorkeling to kayaking, It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The hotels were top-notch. The van to get around was comfortable. Tara and her guides were all so wonderful and accommodating in every way. Tara loves what she does and is great at making each day amazing while keeping us safe and comfortable. The experiences we had were perfection. From snorkeling with sea lions to petting a gray whale to being educated along the way. It doesn’t get better. Traveling with women that are like-minded made each one of us stronger and wiser. nora gessert660 days agoOf the many Green Edventures trips I have gone on, the Greenland trip was mind blowing. The land and people are rugged and beautiful. From traversing rocks and glaciers to seeing how the Greenlandic people live, the trip was truly educational and required that I suspend notions of how things "should" be. From hunting to sled dogs to the land, Greenland is just rugged. You think you know until you get there. Green Edventures always finds the best local guides to ensure we get the best experience. As we traveled from island to island, it was apparent that without a local guide we never would have been able to see and do everything that was accomplished in our time there. We had to pivot a few times due to weather or ice movement, but the changes were seamless and the change was as good or better than the original plan. I keep reflecting on a conversation with a gentleman from another tour company. He asked what we did the last couple days. My response was, we climbed to a glacier, saw an ice cave, an abandoned Army base (fascinating!) and went kayaking. When I asked what he did, his response was we saw a dancer (we did too) and went to a movie. He was clearly disappointed. I was glad I was with Green Edventures! Go to Greenland, you will be amazed. Marie Verheyen723 days agoI had a wonderful time, exploring Iceland with the fire and ice trip. The leader, Kelly and the guide Inga were very professional and caring. Inga told many wonderful stories as she drove and guided us through Iceland. Kelly made sure that we had what we needed as we explored waterfalls and glaciers and Hot Springs. I will miss them. I enjoyed trying all of the various foods of Iceland. The lamb was delicious as was the rye bread baked underground. That was the best bread I’ve ever eaten. Our accommodations and meals were of excellent quality and we had the perfect mix of activities and downtime. We hiked across glaciers, climbed a vertical ice wall in a glacial fissure with crampons and ice axes, saw waterfalls and tissues between tectonic plates, drove buggies, learned about Iceland history and culture, and saw the gorgeous northern lights.Posted on Google

Tara made this trip so enjoyable and fulfilling. There was help all along the way for all knitting levels from someone who has never picked up needles to someone who has been knitting most their life! Being an all women group further added to the magic that took place while we were in Iceland. I can truly say I have never been on a trip like this. Every single one of us walked away friends and with a bond that will last for a very long time. One of the best things of this trip that it wasn't just knitting. We visited hot springs, farms, yarn stores, and parks as well along with stories and histories of the island. It was a perfect balance of activities and knitting. Fran Poodry770 days agoI have been on two trips with Green Edventures and both have been awesome! The first was a through hike in Iceland, the Laugavegur trail; and the second was the Iceland Knitting and Northern Lights tour. The knitting tour finished just over a week ago. I met awesome women who were also on the tour, and I also got to meet some awesome Icelandic women. We had time for knitting, time for viewing the northern lights, and excursions. The excursions included visiting people on their farms and in their homes and workshops to learn about sheep, goats, wool, and yarn. Green Edventures did a great job making sure we had fun things to do and an excellent knitting experience. Somehow they also contrived to have perfect clear nights for aurora-watching! We had the best of two worlds - leisurely time knitting and learning with one of Iceland’s premiere knitting designers balanced with more active time touring fiber studios and museums and hiking in the glorious Icelandic landscape. This isn’t one of those touristy trips - we were in artisans’ homes and studios, got to participate in the local rettir (sheep roundup) and eat what Icelanders eat.And the Northern Lights!!!! Our local guide Inga was funny, great driver and knows the history of her island. Bergros, knitwear designer, traveled with us, she generously gave each of us her shawl book. There were some aspects of the trip that were surprising and difficult with the heaviness of the large "Tuff Sack" drybags and the schedule that we were expected to follow each day. The meals were incredible and the Aggipah outfitter guides were skilled, helpful, and knowledgeable! Lori Anderson, who led the trip and Kelly Turner, who assisted were skilled, helpful, and courteous to all! The Main Salmon River Ladies Rafting Trip was overall a great trip from start to finish. Carole Paquette810 days agoI’ve been home several days now after thoroughly enjoying the Green Edventures Muti-Sport Eco Tour of Iceland’s south coast. This tour far exceeded my expectations. There aren’t enough accolades to express how much fun this trip was. Tara is the best tour leader I’ve ever experienced. She makes her job of organizing all the activities for the 14 women on this trip look so easy when we all know how stressful it can be. Her attention to detail and knowledge of how to pivot activities if the weather changes was seamless. She participated in all the activities with us as did our local guide. Their playful nature energized everyone yet their professionalism was always on display when it counted. This was my first women’s trip ( I’m 71 y/o) and I can’t believe how much fun I’ve been missing. I’d do another trip with Tara or another Green Edventures trip leader without question. Svava Brooks812 days agoI just completed (August 2024) the Iceland Women’s South Coast Mult-Sport Eco Tour, and I loved every minute of it. I just moved back to Iceland after living in the US for 30 years and was eager to see the best of Iceland. As an active person, I was especially drawn to the multi-sport options as a part of this tour. It exceeded my expectations! Each day and activity was better than the next. mary raino818 days agoGreen edventures is the only way to see Iceland. I experienced an Iceland most tourists miss. I saw so many places and enjoyed so many unique experiences in 9 days. Tara has created the perfect schedule of activities to avoid the tourist crowds. Tara and our local guide have great relationships with all the local people. We received special treatment because of their relationships and it made us feel special.The food choices were delicious at the restaurants that we visited. Also, other treats were yum our local guide took us to, such as gas station ice cream. We were blessed with a fantastic local guide who shared information about the history, folklore, farming, foods and day to day life. She even read Icelandic storybooks to us while we were stuck in a traffic jam. Our entire group of women listened enraptured while she read. Heidi919 days agoI went on the Spring 2024 trip to Baja Sur, Mexico with Green Edventures and the company owner, Tara, was our guide. Tara is amazing and she puts so much time, research, energy and thought into creating an organized, special and once-in-a-lifetime kind of travel experience. We were partnered on this Baja trip with a local group, Fun Baja, and their team was fantastic. From start to finish, the trip was thoughtfully organized, well-paced and full of special moments and opportunities. The pre-trip communication ensured our questions were answered and we felt well prepared for the experience. Spending time on both the Pacific side of Baja and then on the Sea of Cortez for several days was extraordinary. We were treated with one magical wildlife encounter after another. Amazing snorkeling, whale sharks, sea lions, gray whales and even a big tail wave from a humpback whale. The travel experience was a dream! I was so impressed with Tara and Green Edventures and am already looking to book another trip. The challenge for me will be how to pick which one to take next. From the moment we landed (three hours late!) & Chabello had waited for us to drive us another 2 hours, I realized I could breathe & everything was totally taken care of "behind the scenes" so that our lovely and powerful group of 10 women could have an EPIC, adventurous, unforgettable expedition together. And we did! With the guidance of our fearless leader Kristen, along with Michele and Chabello, I learned so, so much & moved through some inner fears I might not have been presented with unless there was their gentle, knowing encouragement to support us in trusting our courage. The glamping for four nights on Isla Espiritu Santo in our private cove was absolutely exceptional and my experience with the whales, the stunning swim with the sea lions & the feeling of communing with the ocean, earth & unbelievable starry night skies will remain with me for the rest of my life. And I can't forget to mention the abundance of food made by Anna & the back up support of Martin, Chuy and our boat captain Andreas made it so awesome too which matters when out in the elemental beauty of it all! Doree Miles951 days agoThe Iceland Hot Springs and Mindfulness Retreat spoke to me as soon as the itinerary was posted on the Green Edventures website. The promise of soaking in geothermal pools, learning new mindfulness techniques, and the hope of seeing northern lights convinced me to sign up. But in the end, the trip left me with so much more. This was my fourth trip as a solo traveler with Green Edventures. As with the other trips, the trip leader and our local guide took such good care of us. Tara Short’s positive energy and authentic concern for each individual made everyone in the group feel special. Ingibjörg Gudjonsdottir’s guiding experience, knowledge, and love for her home country was evident as she relayed history, folklore, and personal stories throughout the journey. Their deep friendship and natural playfulness kept us laughing. Together, they opened our hearts and minds to Iceland. Each day was a new “edventure.” Tara and Inga ensured we were well prepared in terms of what to wear, what to have in our day packs, and what to expect as we traveled to the next location. We walked on black sand beaches, snowshoed among birch trees and conifers, explored colorful towns, learned about Icelandic sagas and folklore, and enjoyed a local brewery. Viewing stunning fjords and waterfalls, stopping to photograph Icelandic horses, visiting a turf church, and hiking through lava fields are just a few more highlights. Did I mention the delicious food and comfy cozy hotels? Each day was unique and completely amazing. The geothermal heated spas, pools, and lagoons facilitated a soul-deep relaxation I’ve not experienced before. Floating in the steamy waters with snow flakes falling on my face is an experience I won’t soon forget. On the other hand, Inga’s guidance and breathing techniques allowed me to literally take the plunge in to the Arctic Ocean (3° C/38° F). The word “exhilarating” only just begins to describe how I felt. It was an emotional high. Prior to the trip, I had explored meditation and mindfulness mostly via online apps. The in-person guided sessions with Svava Brooks and Olof Atladottir, as well as meditations lead by Tara and yoga flow with Inga, provided a deeper understanding and connection I had yet to achieve on my own. Sharing the experience with 12 other women made it very special and made meditation something that I want to continue to explore. It gave me an awareness of a much larger universe in which the northern lights will always shine bright. Bless Ísland (Goodbye Iceland). I am someone that would never travel alone so I am glad that I found Tara and her company so that I could explore with her and a small group of wonderful women. This was my first trip with her and both she and Carrie were great about answering all of the silly questions I had before the trip. We saw so much wildlife and the most beautiful scenery. Tara did a wonderful job organizing everything. She is very professional and was so respectful to all of our guides that we had. Andi Branicky1327 days agoI went on the Costa Rica trip and it was INCREDIBLE! Beautiful locations, fantastic hikes, and I learned a lot. The eco lodge accomodations are so close to nature that it makes it easy to unplug and unwind. 6am bird walks with a knowledgeable guide were heaven for a bird nerd like me. Enjoy local food with locally grown fruit, learn just how much effort goes into coconut oil, and witness the majesty of the jungle. The trip was planned with exacting oversight by our Tour Leader Tara and everything went off without a hitch. She ensured that we had the best guide and tracker, Michelle from Yellowstone Wolf Tracker, and that our itinerary provided rich and rewarding experiences in Yellowstone. Understanding that our group was exceptionally lucky we were all thrilled to see a wide variety of animals including wolves, one at close range and a bobcat. The conditions were challenging given the freezing temperatures but we were all well prepared thanks to Tara’s guidance and detailed packing list. When I read the description of this trip, it checked every box as to what I thought a trip to Alaska should include. From camping in Denali National Park, to a ride on the Alaska Railroad. From glaciers, wildlife, kayaking, whitewater rafting and the most amazing humpback whale experience. To top it off, I left the Last Frontier with a new group of friends. Scott Collins1525 days agoMy students and I recently returned from a Green Edventures trip to Roatan, Hunduras. I believe the most accurate description of the excursion is life-changing. My students and I are from the Midwestern United States. We were able to do things that most of us had never dreamed of. From diving on shipwrecks and swimming with dolphins, this tour offered incredible experiences that my students and I will never forget. The trip is well planned and curated such that we were able to get as much out of it as possible. Honestly, just when we thought one particular day was the best one of the trip, the next day came along and supplanted it. This is the second trip I've done with Green Edventures (Alaska). I traveled with GE this past summer to Iceland on a 5 day trek through the Laugavegur Trail (plus pre-tour). The trip was exceptionally well planned. Months in advance of the trip, we were given a detailed trip guide and list of suggested items to bring on the trek. We had a zoom conference before the trip to meet all the participants and ask questions about the tour. We were all so well prepared for the trek! Tara is an amazing person and wonderful trip leader. Iceland was spectacular, but what made this trip so special and unique was Tara and the group of ladies participating on the trek - we had so much fun together! Mari Satterlee1554 days agoI took my class to Florida for their 8th grade trip. We were excited to swim with the manatees, snorkel in beautiful springs, kayak amazing rivers and explore the coast in an airboat. I knew going in that having an educator who would connect with my students and inspire them to learn as much as possible would make or break the trip. Our educator, Kristen, went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. She was AMAZING!!! Kristen used every minute of our trip to teach my kids about the environment, answered all their questions and pushed them beyond what they thought they were capable of doing. Green Edventures also held my hand throughout the process and guided me every step of the way. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were treated with genuine hospitality. The lodging was comfortable and each had their own uniqueness. Food was good, and the sites that we visited were all spectacular. From seeing the Shoebills in the Swamp, to the White Rhinos at the Sanctuary, trekking for the Chimps and Gorillas in the jungle, and going on our game drives, the trip was amazing! Darlynne Giorgi1680 days agoI am a seasoned woman full of adventure. This is my 4th trip with Green Edventure and hopefully not my last one. All trips have expanded my imagination, stretched my comfort zone, challenged my desire to grow and experience life and educated me more than ever! It’s such a coming together of like-minded women regardless of age who supported each other. My first trip was unimaginable, life changing, hiking in Iceland, followed by the discovery of the wildlife in the Alaskan back country, then the over- the- top (pinch me if it’s real) safari in Uganda and last week the Baja Sea of Cortez adventure. On this latest trip, we had a fabulous marine biologist travel with us the entire trip plus a wonderful local expert. Just picture yourself living in a wet suit, snorkeling/diving in caves with the puppy sea lions, up close and personal with the gray whales and snorkeling along with a handsome dive master within 10 feet of the mammoth whale sharks… just to name a few. I thought the tour leader and local guide were both wonderful. I learned a lot about the various plants and animals and greatly enjoyed all of the time spent in nature. Deborah H2045 days agoJuly 2018 - Alaska: This was simply a wonderful trip. The best thing about Tara‘s trips, besides the destinations, is that everything is just incredibly well planned and communicated. I have never been a fan of organized tours, but I didn’t really want to explore Alaska on my own. This trip was perfect for me. I went solo, but met an amazing group of women and I got to do tons of things that I wouldn’t even have known how to organize on my own. The Alaska trip was especially great because we didn’t really spend a lot of time doing touristy things but rather hiking and exploring and really getting to know Alaska. In fact, everything about the trip was great: the lodging, the transportation, the activities and especially the food! I’d go back in a heartbeat if I didn’t have so many other Green Edventure trips I want to take! March 2021 - Baja Mexico:. Another fantastic trip! I’ve never been to Baja, and it’s so beautiful. Camping on the beach, where our five or so tents and our mess tent were the only signs of people on the island was just enchanting. The experiences we had with the sea lions, the whale sharks,the gray whales and the dolphins were just beyond description. I wanted to take a trip that would get me outside and in nature but yet still be peaceful and relaxing and this trip was both. Once again, the women were great and tons of fun. Africa was a life changing adventure, especially having up close animal encounters was truly amazing. All accommodations and meals were excellent. Everything was well planned from the time I arrived at the airport in Kilimanjaro to the time I left. I also met some wonderful like minded travelers. Kathy O2451 days agoI just came back from the Costa Rica Trip, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. This was a dream trip for me, as I love camping, kayaking, hiking, nature watching, snorkeling, and handcrafting. Green Edventures handled all the logistics (many!) and freed our time to savor Costa Rica's remarkable beauty at our isolated eco-lodges. Our nature guide, Pepe, was top-notch and has such a passion for his work, he never ran out of steam, considering all the animals, plants and insects he introduced to us. I joined this trip solo, but felt right at home with the other women on this trip. Why? Because the type of woman who chooses this kind of "edventure" is not looking for tourist traps and do-nothing vacations. She is bright, loves being immersed in nature as well as learning new things about it. If you're the type of woman who forgets that she doesn't have all the comforts of home when she sees the most remarkable birds, fantastically colorful fish, pristine beaches, neon-colored frogs jumping before her feet, eerily moody mangroves, or hears the rain forest's morning serenade, with the surprising and mysteriously powerful calls of the howler monkeys, then book this trip. I highly recommend this to any single/solo woman traveler as a better option for traveling. Matthew Fleenor2604 days agoFirst, we genuinely were cared for- in terms of our dietary restrictions, personal comfort, and needs. There's a difference between feeling cared for and actually being cared for. Definitely was the latter with Green Ed. Second, we were made to feel safe. Driving was extremely safe and efficient, all local restaurants were well-chosen, and all excursions were done with regard for our physical and emotional safety. Third, there is great knowledge of the wildlife and the ecosystems. Because local guides and establishments are utilized, great care is taken to introduce students to the local flora and fauna in a knowledgeable manner with expertise. For example, going to the sea lion colony at the opportune time created the experience of a lifetime (literally). Intimate knowledge of the desert terrain afforded us a comfortable (early morning) visit to the rugged desert coastline (see pics). In total, I would certainly recommend Green Ed for any future trip I was taking to a region where I had little (to no) experience. The staff and contracted partners are completely knowledgeable and trustworthy. It was truly an unforgettable experience for everyone in the group (including me, the instructor).+1Posted on Google

From hiking the majestic mountains, exploring beautiful waterfalls, kayaking the sea, walking on black sand beaches, and experiencing the amazing glaciers , not a moment that wasn’t wonderful. This fabulous trip composed by Tara and the ever energetic local guide Kristen, was one of the best! The Tanzania Safari trip I experienced, had expert guides. Baraza and Karato who accompanied us were outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging and entertaining. Everything was thought through, organized yet flexibility factored in if needed. Tara was professional, friendly and brought out the adventure side of everyone. She arranged a trip that partnered with a tour company (Journeys Uganda) that was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us the beauty of Uganda and its people. Everything was exceptional including transportation, food, glamping on the beach, snorkeling with the seals & swimming with the whale sharks. The mother whales and babies swam up to the boat and we could touch their leathery snouts. As a senior traveler, special attention was provided for me by Chabaga(sp?), to assist with climbing in & out of the boat & walking on uneven surfaces. We hiked, snorkeled, scuba, whale watched, paddle boarded. Alaska family and friends trip with my 17 year old son, where we hiked to amazing scenery, boat rides, whale watching, kayaking and extension to Denali. Iceland family and friends trip with my 20 year old daughter. Lots of hiking, beautiful waterfalls, boat rides with viking sushi, lava tubes, glacier hiking, kayaking and the blue lagoon. Every trip was amazing in its own way!!! I plan on doing more trips with her, not sure which one next...Costs Rica, Trindad and Tobago, Uganda, Galapagos??? E OLMSTED2990 days agoBaja - Trip of a lifetime with great memories made everyday! Starting in Cabo San Lucas to camping on the beach and falling asleep with waves lapping on the shore. Tasty meals from a local chef using local products. Hiking across the island with a great guide pointing out the different cacti and terrain. Kayaking around a beautiful sea lion colony then jumping in and snorkeling with the playful sea lions. and last but not least, snorkeling with a whale shark. I never believed we would be doing that or any of the fantastic adventures Tara Short orchestrated for our group. Boating through an enormous pod of dolphins or an equally enormous group of mobula rays leaping out of the water. Wow I keep thinking of more and more adventures and the great people on the trip -I would love to go back! Thank you Tara for the best vacation!Posted on Google
kimberly Vega2990 days agoI cannot say enough great things about Tara and Green Edventures! I went on the Alaskan Hiking Adventure in 2018 and Adventure it was! Completely got me out of my comfort zone and I loved every minute of it! I knew I was gonna have fun and see amazing landscape but the trip blew my mind! I came home and people were asking if I really went all the way to Alaska and slept in a tent...yes, yes I did and it was a blast!! One of the best parts is that I made lifelong friends on this trip! Bonnie R. Rabin3014 days agoAwesome planned trip with attentive and knowledgable staff. Pushed well beyond my expectations and saw more than I would have on more touristy or "upscale" trips. Less than happy with ability to adhere to my normal routine of healthy clean eating as well as a gluten free vegetarian on an otherwise amazing trip to Iceland. The potential challenges should have been more clear. How many protein shakes and bars can you eat?! Some lodging experiences fell.short of expectations for the trip's price point.
