Traveling with Green Edventures Women’s Adventure Travel isn’t just a vacation — it’s a chance to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with other adventurous women who share your spirit. Whether you’re joining solo or with a friend, you’ll discover a safe, supportive, and laughter-filled community.

Our travelers often say, “I came alone and left with lifelong friends.”

We know planning a trip can bring up lots of questions. While this page covers the most common ones, we want you to know something important: we’re real people, not chatbots. When you reach out to Green Edventures, you’ll connect with a small team who knows the destinations, the guides, and what it’s like to travel as a woman — often solo — in wild, beautiful places. We’re here to listen, guide, and help you feel confident every step of the way.

Below are some of the questions we hear most often — and the honest answers that help you get ready for your next adventure.

Do I need to bring a friend?
Not at all. Most women travel with us solo — and within hours, the group feels like family. We’ll thoughtfully pair you with a roommate (unless you prefer to upgrade to a single room when available). You’ll share experiences, stories, and plenty of laughs — no awkward moments required.
“By the end of the trip, my roommate felt like a sister.” – Green Edventures Traveler

How active are the tours?
Most tours are designed for everyday-active women who enjoy walking, exploring, and trying new things at a relaxed pace. You don’t need to be an athlete — just open to adventure.

Each itinerary clearly lists its activity level, from “easy” (short walks and gentle snorkeling) to “moderate” (longer hikes or kayaking). We offer challenging expeditions, too. If you’re unsure which trip fits your comfort level, just ask — we’ll help you find your perfect match.

“I was worried I wouldn’t keep up — but everything was doable and joyful.” – Diane H.

What about flights and logistics?

We make eco-travel easy, even if it’s your first time abroad. Once your departure is confirmed, we’ll send recommended flight windows, airport transfer details, and a complete pre-departure guide.

Many of our solo travelers say our trip prep felt like “having a travel buddy who knows exactly what to do.”

When is my trip confirmed?
Each Green Edventures tour requires a minimum number of participants to operate. We reserve the right to wait until 90 days before departure to confirm the trip, although we always strive to confirm sooner whenever possible.

Once your tour is confirmed, you’ll receive:

  • Full travel parameters and flight guidance
  • A detailed packing list for your destination
  • Access to the group WhatsApp chat to connect with your fellow travelers and tour leader

This process helps maintain our small-group model and ensures that every confirmed tour has the right balance of travelers to make it a success.

What kind of accommodations can I expect?
Expect comfortable, locally run lodges, boutique eco-hotels, and charming guesthouses that reflect the heart of the destination. Rooms are typically shared (two travelers per room), but single-room upgrades are available on some tours. In a few programs, you might experience well-supported camping or rustic cabins — always noted on the tour page.

These small, character-filled properties are part of what makes our trips so personal and authentic.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. We regularly accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly diets. Just let us know your needs in advance — we’ll work closely with our local partners to make sure you’re well fed and cared for.

“I was so touched that the guides remembered my allergies at every meal.” – Ellen M.

What’s included — and what’s not?
We believe in transparency — no hidden fees, no surprise charges.

Included:

  • Comfortable accommodations
  • Most meals
  • Guided activities, entrance fees, and permits
  • In-country transfers listed in the itinerary

Not included:

  • International airfare
  • Travel insurance
  • Alcoholic beverages and personal expenses
  • Gratuities

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible payment options through WeTravel, so you can reserve your spot with a deposit and pay in installments. Details appear on each tour’s booking page.

What happens if I need to cancel?
We do have a strict cancellation policy, and here’s why.

Our groups are intentionally small, which means every seat truly matters. If someone cancels before a tour is confirmed, it takes longer to reach the minimum number of participants needed to move forward. And once a tour is confirmed, we can’t cancel the trip for the rest of the group if a few people drop out — that wouldn’t be fair to the travelers who’ve already made their plans.

This policy isn’t designed to keep your money — it’s meant to protect the experience for everyone and ensure we can deliver the high-quality, small-group adventure you signed up for. In other words, it protects you, too.

All payments (except the deposit) are fully transferable. You can sell or give your spot to another traveler if you’re unable to join.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, we require all travelers to carry insurance that covers trip interruption and medical emergencies abroad. It’s the best way to travel with confidence — especially for solo adventurers.

What documentation or health prep do I need?
For international travel, you’ll need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months remaining. We’ll also send links from the, State Department, CDC or World Health Organization for specific entry, vaccination, or health information for your destination well before departure. If you haven’t traveled abroad in a while — don’t worry. We’ll guide you through every step.

What gear should I bring?
You’ll receive a detailed packing list designed to keep things simple and stress-free. Most tours only require everyday activewear, and any special gear (like snorkels or hiking poles) is either provided or available to rent.

“I loved that I didn’t have to overpack — the list was spot on.” – Brenda K.

Can I extend my trip?
Yes. Many travelers arrive early to acclimate or stay longer to explore on their own — sometimes with new friends from the trip.

What kind of tours do you offer?
Our multi-day adventures typically average 8 days, but range from 6 to 12 days, and are designed for different interests and activity levels. From wildlife safaris and snorkeling expeditions to wellness retreats, hiking adventures, and creative getaways like our knitting tours, every Green Edventures experience blends education, outdoor experiences, culture, and community.

Each trip is crafted to be educational, empowering, and fun — with space for both reflection and discovery.

Who leads the tours?
Every Green Edventures trip is hosted by a dedicated Tour Leader — your first Edventure Buddy — who supports you from sign-up to the last day of the tour. They’re there to answer questions, ensure your comfort, and make sure each day runs smoothly.

We also partner with experienced local guides in every destination. These are the people who bring their home regions to life — sharing stories, traditions, and expert knowledge you won’t find in a guidebook. Many of our partnerships have lasted over 15 years and directly support local conservation and community initiatives.

What truly sets Green Edventures apart?
We believe that where there’s a will, there’s a way. We specialize in helping beginners achieve remarkable experiences — whether it’s teaching someone who’s never snorkeled to swim with sea lions or guiding a first-time hiker to summit a mountain. We create a patient, caring, and non-competitive learning environment where real women can discover their own extraordinary potential.

A boutique adventure travel agency by women, for women?
Green Edventures is women-owned and operated.  For over 17 years, we’ve been a licensed and insured travel agency creating small-group eco tours that connect travelers to local people, wildlife, and landscapes — in meaningful, sustainable ways.

Every Green Edventures tour supports conservation, education, and community projects in the places we visit. When you travel with us, your adventure gives back.

“It wasn’t just a trip. It was life-changing.” – Sarah J.
