and active environmental citizens.
Thank you so much for the great experiences.
This week was one of the best of my life. I hope your future groups
are as great as ours!" - James W.
"This was by far the best
trip I've ever taken and you made it possible!" - Kimberly

Thank
you for visiting our web site. I am Tara Short, the Founder and
Director of Green Edventures. We are a summer high school marine
biology and eco-adventure company for teens and teachers. I built
Green Edventures on three "E"
values: Environment, Empowerment, and Education.
Our field programs are carbon
neutral and directly support indigenous people and local conservation
projects in Seward, Alaska and La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
Through exciting environment-based adventure field studies, participants
explore wild places by snorkeling and free-diving, kayaking, hiking,
and cultural interaction. Each participant learns through experience
and first-hand observation in nature's classroom.

Summer High School Adventure Programs
Alaska
Kenai Discovery:
Take a walk on the wild side this summer with Green Edventures'
Alaska Kenai Discovery. High school students with a thirst for eco-adventure
and a passion for conservation are invited to join Green Edventures
for the ultimate sub-arctic experience in a very cool place. Our
classroom is the Kenai Peninsula, known for its misty green fjords,
temperate rainforest, glaciers and huge abundance of wildlife including
moose, bears, whales, puffins, porpoise, and eagles, just to name
a few. During the week we explore a variety of habitats both on
and off the water so that you can experience all aspects of the
ecology here. Activities include kayaking, wildlife photograpy,
glacier hiking, and exploring the tempearte rainforest. We'll even
meet with native Alaskans and learn about their culture and connection
to the land. Learn more about Alaska Kenai
Discovery
Baja Mexico Sea Quest:
Make
waves this summer with Green Edventures' Baja Mexico Sea Quest.
Teens with a passion for taking the plunge into science and conservation
are invited to dive in for an experience of a lifetime to explore
a living laboratory of ocean systems and marine biota. The ultimate
classroom is the Baja California Sur, Mexico's Sea of Cortez or
also know as the Gulf of California. It is considered one of the
most biologically diverse marine systems on earth with over 800
species of fish including the gentle giant whale shark which can
reach a size of 60ft and 1/3 of the worlds cetaceans (whales and
dolphin) come to these waters at some point during the year. Famous
conservationist and explorer, Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of
Cortez, "The aquarium of the world" because the rich biological
wealth that can be found within its boundaries. Activities include
snorkeling and free-diving, kayaking, desert exploration, and photographing
underwater marine life. Throw a beach fiesta for Mexican teens from
La Paz to celebrate and protect the Gulf of California. Learn
